Joint Clinical Conference between the INEM and SAMUR Civil Protection in Portugal.
On March 25th, 2025, a joint clinical conference was held at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, organised by the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the Emergency Service of the City Council of Madrid, SAMUR Civil Protection. The conference was opened by Dr. Sérgio Janeiro, INEM Chairman, together with Dr. Ana Correia, Head of the Integrated Emergency Medical System Coordination Department, and Dr. Ervigio Corral Torres, Head of the Training, Quality of Care and Research Department of SAMUR Civil Protection.

During the conference, several relevant clinical cases were presented:
Via Verde de Trauma in Portugal, from basic to advanced: Presented by Dr. Bruno Rito, Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing at INEM.
Trauma caused by an assault with a deadly weapon (stabbing): Presented by Dr. Jorge Enrique Cure Duble from SAMUR Civil Protection and Dr. Adrián Marcos Morales from the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre.
Via Verde PCR in Portugal: What is our experience? Presented by Dr. Nuno Gaibino, Internal and Intensive Care Specialist Doctor at Santa Maria Hospital.
Cardiac arrest of unknown origin and blood test determined treatment: Presented by Dr. Javier Ramos Téllez from SAMUR Civil Protection and Dr. Miriam García Cocera from San Carlos Clinical Hospital.
This conference was one of the activities planned by both institutions to maintain ongoing cooperation in clinical conferences, research, training and disaster preparedness.
