Oporto is visiting Madrid nurseries

On November 7th, a technical delegation led by Ms. Gabriela Leite, Director of the Department of Green Spaces, and Infrastructure Management of the Municipal Chamber of Oporto, made a working visit to the municipal nurseries.

They were greeted by Ms. Rosa Fernández Fontanet, Director of the Plant Production Unit, and Ms. Yolanda López, Senior Engineer of the Casa de Campo Nursery, from the Environment Department. Also, they were able to learn about the life cycle of the plant species present in our city, from their acclimatisation to Madrid and their subsequent installation on public roads and in parks, up until their removal and subsequent recycle.

The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Casa de Campo Municipal Nursery, the Migas Calientes Nursery and Composting Plant and the Rose Garden. The final visit was held at the Parque del Retiro Hot Stove Nursery.

The programme was prepared and coordinated by Mr. Ricardo Iglesias and Mr. Santiago Fernández, from the Internationalisation Department of the Vice mayor’s Office.
