Madrid City Council, present at the EMA General Assembly in Porto
European Metropolitan Authorities (EMA) is a network integrated by political representatives from major European cities and metropolitan areas. This initiative was created in 2015 and has become an important platform for political dialogue between metropolises, European institutions and national governments.
The main objective of the EMA is to provide a space to discuss the challenges of European metropolitan governance and to define the bases for a collaboration between the main metropolises of Europe.
This joint work is reflected in studies, meetings and projects presented in an annual forum that ends up with a political declaration adopted by the participants to defend the metropolitan dimension of European policies.
The Deputy Director General for Internationalization, Mr. Juan Carlos de Castro Pita, attended the General Assembly in Porto, held again in presence-based modality after the 2020 interruption.
