Madrid receives a delegation from the Metropolitan Area of Valle del Aburrá, Colombia
The Cibeles Palace, headquarters of Madrid City Council, received on November 25 a delegation from the Metropolitan Area of Valle del Aburrá (Colombia), chaired by Mr. Pablo Marcelo Maturana, Deputy Director of Cooperation and Agreements. He was accompanied by Ms. Lina Marcela Isaza, legal leader of Mobility, Ms. Claudia Nelly García Agudelo, legal leader of environmental law and Mr. Carlos Andrés Acevedo, executive professional.
After the institutional greeting by the Director General of Cooperation and Global Citizenship, Mr. Cecilio Cerdán; the Deputy Director General of Internationalization, Mr. Juan Carlos de Castro Pita; the Head of Service of External Relations, Mr. Ricardo Iglesias García and the Head of Section, Mr. Santiago Fernández Málaga, made a brief presentation of the City, the City Council, as well as cooperation lines with the Community of Madrid, the regional government.
Next, Ms. Paz Sánchez Amoraga, Deputy Director General of Mobility Management, informed them about the “Urban Zones of Protected Air in the city of Madrid”
In addition, Mr. Federico Jiménez de Parga, General Coordinator of Mobility, presented the “Sustainable Mobility Strategy, ways of transport for bicycles”.
The Colombian delegation then attended the Institutional Act of the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" chaired by the Mayor of Madrid, Mr. José Luis Martínez-Almeida; the Councillor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare and the spokespersons of all political parties with municipal representation also took part.
Finally, Ms. Ana Buñuel, Counsellor for Family, Equality and Social Welfare and Ms. M. ª del Mar Ureña, Technical Advisor of the Area of Families and Social Welfare, also made a brief presentation of the Women’s Secretariat, its work and impact on public policies.
The following day, November 26, the Colombian delegation visited the BiciMad facilities at the EMT base “Mauricio Legendre”, accompanied by Mr. Ricardo Iglesias.
