Madrid receives a delegation of mayors and businessmen from the Aburra Valley (Colombia)

On 19 and 20 May, a delegation of Mayors from the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley visited Madrid City Council. They were received by Mr Cecilio Cerdán, Director General for Cooperation and Global Citizenship; Mr Juan Carlos de Castro, Deputy Director General for Internationalisation; Mr Ricardo Iglesias, Head of the External Relations Service and Mr Santiago Fernández, Head of the International Relations Section.

 On the 19th, topics related to the Innovation Strategy and "Smart Cities" were discussed with Mr. Fernando de Pablo Martín, Director General of the Digitalisation Office and Mr. Fernando Álvarez, Deputy Director General of Digital Transformation; an example of good practice by the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) was presented by the Director of Technology and Innovation of the EMT, Mr. Juan Corro; the MiNT platform of the Madrid City Council was presented by Mr. Sergio Caballero Benito, and the session was closed by the Vice Mayor, Ms. Begoña Villacis, who addressed an institutional greeting to the attendees.

 On Friday 20th, Mr. José Antonio Martínez Páramo, General Coordinator of Environment, presented the "protected urban air zones" in the city of Madrid, and Mr. Federico Jimenez, General Coordinator of Mobility, presented the "sustainable mobility strategy" of Madrid. The visit ended with a presentation of the public bicycle service BiciMAD, by the Director of Mobility of the EMT, Mr. Carlos Mateo.
