The Lord Mayor of the City of London visits the Metropolitan Forest

El Lord Mayor de la City de Londres visita el Bosque Metropolitano 2 dic II

Last December 2nd The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Mr. Vincent Keaveny, has visited the plot of the Metropolitan Forest that is being finalized next to Talgo Avenue in Aravaca. During the visit, the Lord Mayor and the Councillor of the Urban Development Area, Mr. Mariano Fuentes, have proceeded to plant two olive trees that will remember the friendship between the two cities.

During the visit, attended also by the General Director of Cooperation and Global Citizenship of Madrid City Council, Mr. Cecilio Cerdán, and the Executive Director of Invest in Madrid (Madrid Region), Mr. Rodrigo de la Mota, it has been remarked the particularities of this corridor of 75 kilometers long that will surround Madrid with trees, as a natural solution to climate change.

More than 10,000 trees of different species have been planted on the site, and it will soon be open to citizens, assuming also a natural and green connection for pedestrians between the south of Aravaca and the neighbourhood of the Avenue of Europe, located in the municipality of Pozuelo de Alarcón.
