Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha en Cuenca, Elvira Amor amplió sus estudios con un Posgrado en Relaciones Culturales Internacionales, Políticas Culturales y Cooperación en Iberoamérica por la Universidad de Gerona-OEI. Si bien toma como punto de partida la pintura, su trabajo plástico sobrepasa las fronteras de dicho medio.
Su interés por otras culturas, geografías y diálogos transculturales han derivado en una dinámica errante que la ha llevado a vivir y estudiar en distintas ciudades como Madrid, Cuenca, Buenos Aires, Puebla, Bruselas y Yogyakarta, gestando diálogos enérgicos que han dado pie a exposiciones, publicaciones, proyectos e intercambios con otros artistas.
Ha recibido distinciones, ayudas y becas incluidos el Premio a la Producción Artística de la Fundación Banco Santander (Open Studio, 2013) o la Ayuda a la Creación Artes Plásticas (VEGAP, 2017). Igualmente, ha participado en programas de residencias como Fundación BilbaoArte (España, 2021), Villa Vergerie (Laguarres, España, 2020) o Mundo Dios (Mar del Plata, Argentina, 2012).
La artista elabora e investiga en esta pieza su propio lenguaje a través de formas y grandes superficies de color, interesándose por la imagen que se crea a partir de lo visible: la pintura mental que construye el espectador a partir de una composición, de sus distintos elementos, la secuencia de movimientos y el ritmo.
En los códigos de la abstracción Elvira Amor se interroga acerca de la experiencia de estar en este mundo, de ser un cuerpo entre los cuerpos, el cambio y la metamorfosis. Preguntas de las que se derivan reflexiones sobre la relación entre el conocimiento y la percepción, la naturaleza de la experiencia visual, los límites de la pintura o las tensiones entre lo hegemónico, asociado a los poderes fácticos, frente a lo subalterno o marginal, que construye un relato más profundo y nutritivo.

Holding a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Cuenca, Elvira Amor furthered her studies with a postgraduate degree in International Cultural Relations, Cultural Policies, and Cooperation in Latin America from the University of Girona-OEI. Although her starting point is painting, her visual work transcends the boundaries of that medium.
Her interest in other cultures, geographies, and cross-cultural dialogues has led her to live and study in various cities such as Madrid, Cuenca, Buenos Aires, Puebla, Brussels, and Yogyakarta, fostering energetic dialogues that have led to exhibitions, publications, projects, and exchanges with other artists.
She has received awards, grants, and scholarships, including the Banco Santander Foundation Artistic Production Award (Open Studio, 2013) and the Visual Arts Creation Grant (VEGAP, 2017). In this piece, the artist develops and explores her own language through shapes and large surfaces of color, focusing on the image created from the visible: the mental painting the viewer constructs from a composition, its different elements, the sequence of movements, and rhythm.
In the codes of abstraction, Elvira Amor questions the experience of being in this world, of being a body among bodies, change, and metamorphosis. Questions that lead to reflections on the relationship between knowledge and perception, the nature of visual experience, the limits of painting, and the tensions between the hegemonic, associated with the powers that be, and the subaltern or marginal, which build a deeper and more nourishing narrative.
